Before going to this show I thought "Another movie where a music contest saves the day - we have all seen a few of these". This was one of the better ones because the music was great - these guys could really sing. There was enough variety in the music that it stayed fresh. I was surprised that the relationships between the characters was the main focus of the movie. This movie had a lot of laughs because Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah are so funny. Through all the songs and laughs there is also serious material - death of spouse, unemployment, single motherhood, Asperger syndrome, first love...the list goes on.
